Lisa Simmons with E&B Chairman Peter Repovich

The Eagle & Badge Foundation has been honored to support the Randal D. Simmons Outreach Foundation in their efforts to honor Randal Simmons as well as to continue his legacy. We honored his memory July 19th at the Eagle & Badge Foundation (see separate article) and were proud to be in attendance at their first annual Legacy of Love event on December 7th at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes (see photos).

It was a very special evening hosted by the fabulous Pat Harvey from KCAL 9; with entertainment by composer/producer / pianist Earl R. JOhnson Jr., violinist Michael Ward and sax sensation J Boykin. Eagle & Badge boardmembers Peter Repovich and Brian Johnson, director Scherr Lillico, and LAPPL boardmember John Mumma attended the black tie affair which recognized Randy's commitment to the community and it's youth along with the presentation of several awards.

The Legacy of Love recipient for 2008 was Lt. Michael Albanese. - with the LAPD for 37 years, 28 of those year in SWAT, and for the past 8 as OIC. Lt. Albanese continues to support the Simmons family and participates in many events sponsored by the Foundation, dedicated to advance the legacy of his dear friend and fellow warrior.

On July 19th, The Eagle & Badge Foundation paid tribute to our fallen SWAT officer Randal Simmons and has recently supported some of the projects he was most committed to. His wife, Lisa, and family have now begun a new foundation in his name and we are honored to support their efforts.

Randy had a huge heart that was filled with love, faith, hope, commitment, loyalty and trust. He committed his life to things of God and extended his hands to the less fortunate and disadvantaged. He was particularly passionate about helping children in low income neighborhoods. He believed that if enough people volunteered a little time to mentoring kids that it would change their behavior, attitude and their outlook on life.

Randy would often say, "Children need to know that Jesus loves them more than they could ever imagine and that there is hope for a better future regardless of their environment and circumstance. The key is showing them that you love them by volunteering your time.
