Eagle & Badge Foundation Plays Santa Claus to the Glory Kids
Almost 1,000 children turned out at the Glory Christian Church for the holiday service and party. Besides his police work, SWAT officer Randal Simmons volunteered on the streets of inner-city neighborhoods where he ministered to children on weekends as part of a church group he founded called Glory Kids Ministries, which steers children away from gangs and toward Christianity. Randal had always wanted the kids to receive bicycles for xmas... so with a commitment made at the July 19th event, the Eagle & Badge Foundation donated 310 bikes...for the 7-12 year olds..... and several of the E&B board were on hand to help out. -- Chairman Peter Repovich, President/CEO Arthur M. Kassel and Secretary Brian Johnson, along with Exec Director Scherr Lillico attended the service and helped to present the children with the Huffy bicycles. Children in the age groups younger and older received toys and gift cards donated from the church and other sources. Lisa Simmons and her family, along with Pastor Alton Trimble and his wife, coordinator Joy Trimble, and many members of the LAPD SWAT family, helped to make the christmas very special for a lot of children.
