The Eagle & Badge Board of Directors has approved grants to the following community organizations and individuals this month:
Valley Traffic Division's' “Still Saving Lives Golf Classic” fundraiser to help provide the Valley Traffic Division with the much needed supplies and materials required to provide education to our schools and community of the San Fernando Valley.
An LAPD detective to assist with expenses relating to the hospitalization of his daughter while she undergoes major surgery and cancer treatment;
The North Valley YMCA Booster Club to support their efforts in building strong kids, families and communities;
The California Disabled Veterans Alliance which supports veterans in their efforts to find jobs and start their own businesses;
and
Los Angeles Women's Shelter - a place of temporary refuge and support for women escaping violent situations, such as rape, and domestic violence.
The Eagle & Badge Foundation Board of Directors thanks the many companies and individuals who supported this year's gala on September 26th. Despite a challenging economy, the event was attended by over 800 guests, netting more than $200,000 to support the numerous community requests for foundation grants and financial contributions. (Please note: A misprint in the November issue of the Thin Blue Line stated the net was only $2,000 -- this was a typographical error.)
The Board is very grateful to all who purchased tickets and tables; joined the Eagle & Badge Foundation as life members; and contributed to our silent and live auctions. The Board also extends its sincerest gratitude to our major sponsors: Herbalife, the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, Steve Wallace, AltaMed Health Services, R.W. Selby & Company; Benny Hinn Ministries, Robin and Elliot Broidy, Bachrach & Associates, Helinet Aviation, Michelman & Robinson, Sprint/Nextel, Galpin Motors, Arthur M.
